Great choice for B&W, and thanks for showing this technique, this is an eye opener
Excellent review. I have this combo - XT5 + 70-300. It always provides sharp and pleasing images. I agree, as a hiking lens, with my 16-55/f2.8, it is a useful set up.
Thank you, Gary. Great tutorial, as usual...
Another good video 😊
Is it possible any any chance to download these presets from you? :)
Really nice video. Out of interest once you export the images from Lightroom as a Jpeg, does the image render sharper than the preview you are seeing when editing? I didn't know if the image quality you see when editing in Lightroom is a downgraded version for speed of editing.
100 thank you's (again), Gary! I made sure to repeat some of the generative detail with the current version of the public release and then tried some other variations like oilpaint vs watercolor -- works great. This was working impeccably inside the beta but 6-8 weeks ago was overwritten and a lot of YT tutorials were ruined as a result. It was interesting that water + oil variations work but color pencil does not; there could be many AI styles/ techniques that work and call for keywords we are not aware of yet without testing. I also loved your relentless layering of texture in this. As I was lazy to grab a textured psd sitting around, I asked AI to make me one (cracked paint) quickly and I kept on working. This will make a great action for myself later. At the end of your video, there were some delicious layer/alpha painting with delightful brushes you used. I enjoyed that and felt you could make a fantastic video on that technique as well, having employed several layers already, this could zero in on painting the RGB back in but still leaving room for whited-out pixels, textures. You deserve to be followed by 20x more than you are.
Great video Gary thank you. What format do you save as a preset on Adobe Color and where do you import or open the file?
Brilliant video loved this
I love your work. Beautifully creative. Thank you. Please consider changing your cursor size to make it easier to follow around the screen. I'm a Photoshop beginner and understand not every step will be verbalized for absolute newbies. so being able to follow the cursor helps a lot.
Always learn something new! Thanks for sharing.
Another excellent video, thank you.
Thank you. This is so inspiring; can’t wait to try this on some photos from my recent trip to Scotland. Your work is exceptional!
Another fantastic tutorial. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it David. Thanks again for watching :)
Beautiful images again Gary. I won’t use PS for trying these out but Luminar which I’m more familiar with especially now. Thanks for sharing.
Many thanks Victor. Yeah the overlays should work just fine in Luminar. I might give it a go myself. Thanks for watching :)
Could you comment on how one imports the hex numbers as a group to photoshop from adobe color? Really enjoyed your presentation, Thanks
Thank you for this nice tutorial, Gary. I am sure that the quality of the base image will have an impact on your results. In the example you provided (the boat) your base image has a "vintage" look. Did you do that on purpose? If so, how? Thank you!
Thanks for watching. The Corpach boat was just basic edits in Capture One with no filters etc added. :)
Very kool, thanks!
Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it :)
Fascinating to watch Gary and something I’ve been looking at doing so nice timing, what source do you use to get your various textures?
Thanks for watching. I've gathered so many over the years for a lot of stuff from the likes of stock sites and free sites like Pexels and Adobe Stock :)
Your a genius ..
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching :)
When are you doing the sequels ? This was fun
Glad you enjoyed it. There’s a full course coming out in August that includes all assets etc for a step-by- step learning experience. Thanks for watching😀👍
What a great idea! As I usually work mostly in Camera Raw I haven't worked with gradient maps in the past. I will definitely give this a try.
Can't get to that app. Adobe insists on Adobe Express, which looks nothing like what you show. Even when I enter the url you show, I get to Adobe Express.
Beautiful model and nice work
'Scuse me bloke, what is that language you're toiking?? Did all teachers in school talk that way? Or was it homeschooling? Sounds like...
Thank you Gary for your constant production of interesting videos and thank you for the E-book. Looking forward to your course.
The difference between Ripley and pretty much every other thing turned into black and white, this series was actually shot for black and white.
Interessante Methode! Und was für ein drolliger Akzent! Ist das Schottisch?
Yup: tried it out and learnt how subtle the tones are. Thanks.
This lens compatible for nikon dslr fx ?
Great visuals, everything else is pure dog turd, from the casting, the acting etc, watch with sound off at all times
If a TV show ever deserved the Every Frame a Painting brand of approval, it's RIPLEY.
Great tutorial! I’m definitely gonna use this technique a lot. Did you use it for your video? In other words; would this apply to Premiere Pro as well?
Glad you enjoyed it and yes I applied one of them to the video as a cube file. Thanks for watching 😁👍
plain and simple - it can be so easy, thanks for sharing
Awesome. You mind sharing your preset
Thank you for sharing the technique
This is a fantastic channel. Wish I had found it sooner. Thanks for your great videos.
Many thanks for the comment. Glad you're enjoying the videos😁👍
Es ist eine wahre Freude, diese Bilder in dieser Qualität anzusehen.
Danke fürs zuschauen. Freut mich, dass dir das Video gefallen hat😁👍
mamma mia! this is great! thak you for sharing!
Totally. So beautiful. Some scenes made me gasp!
Just watched ep 1....Stunning
Great isn't it. 😁👍
Are you going to sell your Ripley presets?
I've still quite a few more to create from the series, so hadn't thought of selling. Thanks for watching 😁👍
@@GaryMcIntyrePhotographer 'd be interested. Love the Ripley style, but cannot take Netflix screenshot to use as the example. Would be very interested if you could make available- Thanks!
Cool, thanks! I actually had no idea about the Adobe Color tools, now I do! 🙂
It's a great free resource. Thanks for watching 😁👍
Story is just meh, but the cinemotography was amazing. It is oscar worthy
Every scene 😁👍
@@GaryMcIntyrePhotographer Spent the entire movie looking at leading lines, placement and compositions.
It was great wasnt it , very inspiring
Totally, every frame. 😁👍
Brilliant, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching Victor. Glad you enjoyed it 😁👍
One challenge is capturing an image from Netflix when content is protected. Ordinary screenshots come out black. There are workarounds for most browsers but I didn't see one for Safari on MacOS. Any secrets?
Thanks for watching. I just did a web search for Ripley images. Hope that helps😁👍
I just tried it with "snag-it" on my macbook, no problem at all.
Take a picture of the screen with your camera 😊
For example: dnm.nflximg.net/api/v6/2DuQlx0fM4wd1nzqm5BFBi6ILa8/AAAAQdjs2R5GZg71uuzQFGND9sqcyGJg_f2H6G7xykTDz5NGpxBCh-RLQ83TvzzQVWwljkRWbfu12msL-S0lhb-dz9XcD1AP-4AGqj2iWRZTYsZ8UlDp95LavvxnkkpNoLIf0OQPrHE0n0q8co0CvtwDS2yl5Wo.jpg?r=a12
Well you made that look easy😊 Thanks again for another informative video. And the series was amazing watched it a few weeks ago 😊
Fantastic series wasn’t it. Thanks again for watching Diane😁👍
Fantastic! Thank you so much for this excellent video!
Thanks for watching. Glad you found it useful😁👍
Very nice tutorial Gary! Thank you for your teachings. That movie is truly awesome :)
It's a fantastic series isn't it. I would've loved to have been on set for that one. Thanks for watching 😁👍
